The collection of works on Sea Change speaks of a marked change, in practice and in sound, of new music being written today.
“This disc presents a fascinating cross-cut of the new music/post-classical contemporary sound at the beginning of the 21st century. These works point to the potential emergence of a new aesthetic: a post-post modernism, or perhaps neo-modernism. Long gone (or absorbed) are arguments of consonance/dissonance, extended techniques or complexity, high vs. low art, irony or quotation. The composers here present us with new questions, new arguments, only now being formulated.” Peter Hatch
